Quote from jimaxx :Thats the thing, my wheels locking at about 90 degrees

In fact it is locking at 200, its goes 100 degrees to both directions.
I would highly recommend using something from 360-700 degrees, depending on the car. After you get used to higher degree you will get much better control and never turn back.

Quote from Humbleridderen :I used this program and reduced acceleration to 80. I used DFP and had lot of trouble to lift the foot high enough, but with this program I could suddenly run 24 laps at Fernbay club reversed with LX6 with very little heating of clutch and even match my PB. So i think it´s very good. Thx... Drunken Predator

Well im happy it helped someone else too.

Hmm i think xpand rally and xpand rally extreme also models driver damange.. not too great games though.. but at least other is on steam with about no money (with the exchange rate from euros to dollars stuff for example in steam is damned cheap for us europeans atm.)

Quote from PLAYLIFE :Yes, but much of forum discussion is pointless. Vast majority of all forum posts are useless garbage that contributes to nothing really...

And heres a prime example what were doing now!
Thanks for the first giggle of the day! these forums always make my day go a bit better.

Quote from PLAYLIFE :I never get what's wrong with the naming and shaming. Someone's being an a-hole and god forbid I should say his name? Or are they afraid it will just get out of hand?

I guess its because every incident has always two views, and its not always clear at all who is in fault, sometimes both! Its possibly rather pointless to flame and handbag around forum of some racing incidents happened on public server.. if theres complains, maybe people should find the website for the server if there is such and follow their complain policy, should lead to more reasonable results.

Quote from Boris Lozac :Yep, i agree with you there, it sure is more difficult to adapt to the physics not from this world...

nah, LFS is just over forgiving (grass, corner markers on chicane.. in most of the games and in reality you wreck the suspension if for example driving like anyone drivers in Fern bay)

well.. saying others game physics suck is rather steep and unjustified really, but i guess everyone has right for their opinion..
Personally i think you are badly missing out

EDIT:Only thing i dont buy is the cheap thrills, LFS is not the hardest game by far.. i know few other that take much much much more practice to learn properly, and push to limits.. and it has nothing to do with realism.. frankly LFS physics are so slowly advaning, that it still lacks in about billion areas, where many other games give more complete package, and therefore more immersive one.

his fault me thinks. Changing driving line in a major way, from the other side of the track to other without making sure the lane is clear. He ran into you, and propably you wouldnt have expected him to rush to the line, or maybe didnt even have time for it (i wouldnt have).

Quote from tristancliffe :

The small club is LFS. It just so happens that a lot of people have inadvertently joined the wrong club...

Nah, some just dont see realism as a passionate religion that needs to spread for everones mind as the major achievement and aim, also everyone dont seek it like its the holy grail.. immersion is the word for me i guess.. I love racing sims, but i have no problems enjoying them even if they arent perfect or aiming to simulate all the possible things the cars do. I like LFS, but i also like rFactor, GTL, GTR2, GPL, RBR, Race07... none of them is perfect, but all are immersive.. and i dont even put em into any sort of this is better than this order since i love em all. LFS aims for uber realism.. rFactor has variety and lovely amount of it.. GTL has sexy old cars.. GTR2 beats LFS in feeling of GT cars anyday, allthough i prefer GTR.., you get the point.. Some people indeed sound like bible bashers, but they just are realism bashers.. Well.. at least theres some pretty funky handbagging daily on the forums to keep others entertained.

Quote from Fat-Alfie :I'm sure it will, until you are an island of a handfull of blinkered individuals pretending you are driving a real car instead of sitting in front of a computer screen. Everyone else will have walked away, to games where they can have fun, and not be ridiculed for it.

IT IS NOT REAL. IT IS A GAME. IT IS FOR FUN.

It makes me smile, to read these posts from people who are obsessed with so-called realism, how they pick and choose which parts of reality they want included. Wouldn't it be realistic if, once you crashed into the barrier, you were out of racing for the next 4 hours while your car was fixed? How is that different from damaging your engine through over-revving, or clutch wear? Surely there should be a consequence to ANY aspect of racing, if you want realism.

And before anyone spouts any crap about 'it's a work-in-progress', those aspects, the 'inconvenient' aspect will NEVER be included in this game. So who decides what's real and what's not?

You are making fools of yourselves, you really are...

Well done sir, just gave me a giggle..
Yes.. realism in videogames is rather interesting aspect indeed!

Like a fellow Simjunkies said...

"Steam... steaming pile of s*it rather"

Personally, ive had very little issues, games are cheaper than in stores.. easy autoupdate.. steam community is very handy.. etc.
Its a convenience factor for me.. not to mention the smaller game developers who can get more attention and an easy channel to distribute their product.. rather steam, than microsoft "live"...
Im deeply terrified of the "games for windows" logo and integrating live on pcs...

Quote from Gunn :Just because you say it's hate doesn't mean it is.

Well bullying then, but it happens in every thread thats about cruising/drifting.. if you as a moderator dont see it, then all i can do is wonder what kind of moderator you are. Its unacceptable, all these people have right to enjoy the game, and not be bullied around..
they have paid for it.. and soon people are scared to post or start threads about things they have on their heart or need help in because the bully crew lead by a mod is always there. If you now tell me its only humor, its not.. humor is something understood as humor also by the one its aimed at.. just had to say it.. ill rest my case.. might be the position of the moon, but today i get more irritated than ever of the bully feature in community.

/needs a drink..

I see nothing bad in cruising.. not my cup of tea maybe.. but hell.. it gives a playground to enjoy the physics with less stressfull enviroment, and still do it online with other people.. all this hate always against everyone who enjoy the game bit differently than others...

To me the change of the right hander after long straight means 1 great passing area less.. Its more dangerous now, on the old one ive done many many passes going 2 car wide to the turn, safely.. but now it wont allow as much room.. not a biggie though.. still think its the most boring track in the game

Quote from MyBoss :I don't have a problem with how the clutch is acting in races, but I do have a problem that I can't even do some donuts with the new formula car without it getting overheated. Thats just unrealistic.

Hmm i must agree.. well.. i think it will be fixed and tweaked eventually..

Quote from geeman1 :Agreed. Everyone who voted for that option is lying to themselves and they should have voted for the first or the last option.

Bullcrap, since i use it on the cars that im not comffy clutching manually.. so therefore my vote is 100% correct relating to my driving:

"I use it only in cars where it's needed"

Hell, i definitely need it on some cars, for example LX6 on a bitchy track.

Quote from spanks :

I have gtr2, and have the rfactor demo, and neither really seem to be all that people make them out to be.

rFactor demo is hardly good for review, since it only has default cars that quite frankly.. suck pretty bad.. Its a great sim, well worth buying for its price.
GT Legends is good one too, just for the sake of the old cars.. good fun.
How about some different type of gaming? Or maybe find a new real world hobby? World is full of options.. so you just have to go for something.. whats worse you can lose? little money only worth of some cigarettes really.
